Who is responsible for your information

Krause Autos Ltd is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at 12 Tyne Road, Sandy, Bedfordshire, SG19 1SA, by phone on 01767 692798, or by email at info@krauseautos.co.uk.

Our company registration number is 12789630. Our registration with the Information Commissioner's Office is PENDING: client to confirm.

What we collect, and from which form

Booking a job online

The booking form on this site asks for:

  • the service or service level you have chosen, and the date and time you pick
  • whether you will wait with the car or drop it off
  • your first name and surname
  • your mobile number and email address
  • your vehicle registration and current mileage
  • the vehicle make and model
  • your address and postcode
  • how you heard about us
  • whether you know where your locking wheel nut key is
  • the tick boxes about the vehicle (for example a vehicle too large for a car ramp), so we can tell you before the day if we cannot take the job
  • whether you want occasional MOT and service reminders. This box is never ticked for you

While you are filling the form in, the answers are held in your browser so you can move between steps and use the back button. When you send the request it is stored in our booking records on Lovable Cloud (see who we share it with, below).

Bodywork quote from photographs

  • the photographs you choose to add, and a short description of the damage
  • your vehicle registration, make, model and year
  • your full name, mobile number and email address

Photographs are resized in your own browser before they are sent, and are used only to price the repair.

Recovery request

  • your name and mobile number
  • the vehicle registration
  • where the vehicle is
  • a line on what has happened

Contact form

  • your first and last name
  • your email address and phone number
  • your message, and any photographs you attach

Registration lookup

When you type a registration into the plate box, that registration alone is sent to the DVSA MOT History API, which returns the vehicle's make, model, colour, fuel type, year and MOT history so the form can fill itself in. No personal information is sent with it, and nothing else is sent.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

If you tick the reminders box when you book, we use your name, email address, phone number and vehicle details to send you MOT and service reminders. We only send them if you ask for them, and you can stop them at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or ringing us.

  • To carry out the work you ask for: booking, quoting, recovery and the repair itself. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you, or steps taken at your request before a contract.
  • To answer a message or a quote request. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in replying to an enquiry you have sent us.
  • To keep the records the law requires of work carried out, including MOT testing records. Lawful basis: our legal obligation.
  • To send MOT and service reminders, only if you tick that box. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to a reminder or ringing the office. Ticking the box tells us you want reminders; the reminder service is not yet switched on. When it is, reminders will be sent the day before, and the channel (email or WhatsApp. Whether WhatsApp is used is PENDING: client to confirm) is PENDING: client to confirm.
  • To measure how the site is used, only if you accept in the cookie banner. Lawful basis: your consent. See our cookie notice.

Who we share it with

  • DVSA: the registration you type is sent to the DVSA MOT History API to look up the vehicle. No personal information is sent.
  • Google: if you accept in the cookie banner, Google receives page visits and completed bookings and enquiries (with their reference and listed price, never your name or contact details) through Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement, to measure visits and which adverts lead to bookings. No remarketing or ad personalisation. Withdraw at any time with Cookie settings in the footer.
  • Our hosting provider: this website is hosted by Lovable, which processes requests to the site on our behalf.
  • Our garage management system: bookings will be passed into the workshop's diary and management system. The product name is PENDING: client to confirm.
  • Lovable Cloud: when you send a booking, quote, recovery request or message, what you entered (and any photographs) is stored in our database and private file storage on Lovable Cloud, which processes it on our behalf. Only signed-in Krause Autos staff can see it. The region the data is held in is PENDING: client to confirm.
  • Resend: sends the emails about your request on our behalf: your confirmation or acknowledgement, and the alert to our office. Resend receives your name, email address and the details of the request needed for that email.

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. Where we are asked for it by law, or need it to defend a claim, we may disclose it.

How long we keep it

Booking and job records are kept for PENDING: client to confirm. Photographs sent for a bodywork quote are kept for PENDING: client to confirm. Records we must keep by law, such as MOT test records, are kept for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • ask us to delete it, where we do not have to keep it
  • ask us to restrict or object to how we use it
  • ask for it in a portable form
  • withdraw consent for reminders or for measurement at any time

To make a request, ring 01767 692798, write to us at 12 Tyne Road, Sandy SG19 1SA, or email info@krauseautos.co.uk. We will answer within one month.
