We will not recharge a leaking system
If a system has lost its charge quickly, the refrigerant has gone somewhere. Filling it again without finding the leak means you pay twice and the gas ends up in the atmosphere both times. We test first, tell you where it is losing pressure, and quote for the repair before recharging.
What happens next
1. We identify the gas
R134A on older cars, R1234YF on most registered from around 2017. They are not interchangeable and the equipment differs.
2. We test for leaks
Recharging a leaking system just vents refrigerant into the atmosphere a second time. We find out first.
3. Recharge and check
Evacuate, vacuum test, recharge to the manufacturer's weight, then check the outlet temperature.
4. Cabin clean if you want it
An anti-bacterial treatment clears the smell that comes from bacteria in a damp evaporator.
Questions we get asked
It depends which refrigerant your car uses. R1234YF, fitted to most cars registered from around 2017, costs considerably more per kilogram than the older R134A. Tell us the registration and we will give you the price for your car.
